Show Chairman Request. "As I now try to serve "actively" in working towards a successful event for the Omaha Philatelic Society, I implore you to consider if you have advanced the cause of the most important public event for the OPS. Have you plans to share our event with members of your local school, congregation, neighborhood, and for those with hair your barber (or beautician) by posting flyers? Do you know someone who may have an interest exhibiting? How about asking a dealer who you may contact by mail to participate? This year we are working to have a "Stamp Collecting" merit badge workshop for the Boys Scouts under the direction of Dr. Tom Myers who is a member of the Lincoln Stamp Club. In addition, we have placed our show announcement in Linn's and hope that members may have a community newspaper that will accept a placement about the show. We will not turn down any creative idea you have. All of our members should and need to be a part of the effort for the show to be a success. Also, the WWII Tuskegee Airmen will have their 33rd national convention at the Qwest Center on August 4-8. If you have any airmail items from the war era that you would like to share and display please contact me at edgarh@fcstone.com. |
